Blake defeated Watkins Mill 12-5 on Friday thanks in part to Evan Cawthorne, who drove in four runners. Cawthorne drove in runs on a single in the first, a single in the third, and a groundout in the fourth.
The Bengals captured the lead in the first inning. Bengals scored one run when Cawthorne singled.
In the top of the third inning, Watkins Mill tied things up at three on a double which scored two runs.
The Bengals took the lead for good with five runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth an error scored two runs for the Bengals, Cawthorne grounded out, scoring one run, Jared Pollack singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Avery Sims singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Theo Sodani was on the pitcher’s mound for Bengals. He surrendered one run on one hit over one and one-third innings, striking out one.
