We are introducing a new feature on our website – a weekly update on how Blake Bengal alumni are faring in college athletics. Below is a recap of how some of our Bengals did this past week in college sports.
Alyshia Adams (Blake ’15) is a senior on the Campbell University basketball team. Campbell won its last two games, including a 63-37 win over Western Carolina on 11/9 in which Alyshia saw game action and recorded two rebounds.
Miles Brown (Blake ’18) has started his freshman campaign at York College on the swim team. In his most recent dual meet, Miles placed 2nd in the 100 Free and 3rd in the 50 Free in a win over St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Miles and York are competing in the Franklin & Marshall Invitational this weekend (11/16-18).
Breon Herbert (Blake ’14) and Ray Doh (Blake ’13) played in their final football game at McDaniel, a loss to Johns Hopkins on 11/10. Breon recorded two catches for 24 yards. Ray had two tackles, including one for a loss. Both had very good careers at McDaniel. Ray finished up with 20.5 sacks and 42.5 tackles for a loss in his career. Breon had over 1000 yards receiving and eight touchdowns in his career. Orbell Keshishi (Blake ’17) is also an offensive lineman on the McDaniel team.
Andres Gomes (Blake ’16) is a junior on the Howard University soccer team. Howard lost in the Sun Belt Conference title game, 2-1 to Coastal Carolina on 11/8. Andres was second on the team in goals this season, with four.
Matthew Kenney (Blake ’16) is a junior on the Towson University swim team. Towson is competing in the Bucknell Invitational this weekend (11/16-18). Matt placed 7th in the 500 Free and 10th in the 200 Free, and will be competing in the 1650 Free later today.
Ty Mason (Blake ’17) is a redshirt freshman on the Temple University football team. Temple defeated South Florida on 11/17. Ty has scored two touchdowns this season for the Owls.
Citiana Negatu (Blake ’15) is a senior on the Loyola-Chicago University basketball team. Loyola-Chicago earned wins over Detroit Mercy and Illinois-Chicago this past week. Citiana saw game action in the win over Detroit Mercy.
Jeffrey Powell-Young (Blake ’16) is a junior on the Immaculata College basketball team. Most recently, Jeffrey scored six points and had three rebounds in a loss to Southern Virginia on 11/17. Jeffrey is seeing game action regularly for the Macs.
Sabrina Simpson (Blake ’18) finished up her freshman season on the Rhodes College field hockey team. Rhodes lost in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament on 11/7. Sabrina saw game action in 14 games this season, starting in one and scoring two goals on the season.
Aaron Stanton (Blake ’18) is a freshman on the Williams College swim team. Most recently, Aaron helped lead Williams to victory over Union College on 11/17 by placing 1st in the 200 Breaststroke and 2nd in the 50 Free, and participating on two relays.
