The Blake Athletic Department is excited to announce the hiring of Jim Potts as the next Head Coach of the Varsity Boys Lacrosse program. Coach Potts comes to Blake after serving as the Varsity Boys Lacrosse Coach at Northwood for the past three seasons. At Northwood, Coach Potts increased participation and led the program to its first division championship in 2017. He was named Coach of the Year by the MCPS Boys Lacrosse Coaches. Coach Potts replaces Coach Patrick Howley, who resigned following the 2017 season after a lengthy coaching career at Blake.

Coach Potts has extensive experience coaching lacrosse outside of school with various club teams. In college, Coach Potts was a member of the NCAA Division III National Championship team at Cortland State.

Mr. Potts will also be joining the Blake High School staff as a Physical Education teacher in Fall 2017.

There will be a meeting on Tuesday, June 6th at 6pm in the Blake Cafeteria for students and parents of the Boys Lacrosse program to meet Coach Potts. He will also be discussing opportunities for offseason conditioning and preparation for the Spring 2018 season.

Coach Potts can be reached at blakeboyslacrosse@gmail.com if you have any questions or would like to welcome him to the coaching staff at Blake.
